The Opportunity

Morson Edge are recruiting for Industrial Blaster / Sprayers for work in Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain a safe working environment and comply with all legal and procedural regulations.

Perform surface preparation (hand, mechanical, blasting) and assist with blast set-up as needed.

Apply coatings using brush, roller, or spray - knowledge of spray set-up is beneficial.

Understand coating systems : primers, high build coatings, one and two-pack systems.

Perform quality control checks, including film thickness and environmental readings.

Use access equipment such as scaffolding and mobile platforms.

Qualifications & Requirements

Train the Painter Silver / Gold or ICATS Blasting or Spraying certification

At least 1 year experience in coatings, blasting, or spraying

Security Requirements :

Successful candidates must be eligible to undergo BPSS and SC Clearance to work at the dockyard (Support will be provided through the application process).

Pay Rates & Allowances :

When Blasting :

Basic : £22.00,

OT1 : £28.60,

OT2 : £35.20

(Blasting work makes up most duties.)

When Painting :

Basic : £18.00,

OT1 : £28.60,

OT2 : £28.80

(Painting will be ad hoc depending on work programmes.)

Taxable lodge allowance for travelling workers :

£50.65 per day

21 days annual leave + statutory bank holidays

38-hour basic week, with overtime available (Weekend and overtime work may be required based on business needs).

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
