Overview

KPMG has one of the leading Indirect Tax practices in the UK, providing advice and support in all aspects of Indirect Tax (VAT, Customs Duty, Green taxes) to a broad range of business sectors, including large multi-nationals, household name retailers, public sector organisations and financial services clients. The Indirect Tax practice is fast-growing and dynamic, with approximately 13 partners and 190 professional staff located across the UK. We work to support our portfolio of clients with a variety of Indirect tax issues.

The KPMG UK Fintech team is a significant and growing business looking after more than 140 clients. The Fintech team incorporates KPMG's digital assets business, supporting a growing number of UK and international crypto businesses. Indirect tax is a significant portion of this Fintech business, and we are looking for an experienced VAT Senior Manager to work alongside the VAT partner who leads the Fintech VAT practice and the wider KPMG Fintech team across the UK.

Due to substantial growth in the wider KPMG Fintech Team and double-digit growth of the Fintech VAT practice, we are seeking an ambitious Senior Manager who can lead fintech and crypto accounts, grow the indirect tax work, and progress towards director, with increasing leadership responsibility in the Fintech VAT practice.

It is critical for the role that the right person demonstrates business development skills and can talk directly to clients (new and existing). The candidate should show strong leadership to collaborate with internal stakeholders across indirect tax and other service lines, as many fintech and crypto projects involve legal and regulatory work. The role also requires managing multiple projects concurrently, so excellent organisational skills are essential.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Providing high quality indirect tax advisory on a broad range of issues to fintech and crypto clients
  • Maintaining, developing and managing strong client relationships
  • Developing innovative solutions and opportunities for clients
  • Assisting in the implementation of business development initiatives
  • Providing sales support, developing, building and maintaining key B2B and B2C client relationships
  • Developing more junior team members from both technical and commercial perspectives
  • Collaborating with the Fintech VAT partner and other partners/directors who will support and enable you to realise your full potential
Qualifications and Skills
