Overview

We are seeking dedicated professionals like you to join our team in Bradford and make a meaningful impact in people's lives, their families and communities. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Independent Prescriber to join our dynamic healthcare team.

About us

We are one of the largest complex integrated treatment services in England. We operate an MDT model and there is real opportunity to work within a fantastic supportive team, including a mental health nurse offering specific interventions to support people, making a real difference to the lives of those in our community. We have a strong ethos around staff development, with protected CPD time being offered, as well as individual and group supervision. All clinical services are supported by an experienced and dynamic multidisciplinary central clinical department.

Responsibilities
  • Clinical assessment with or without prescribing a range of medications (including controlled drugs) to support recovery in line with national and organisational guidelines and policies.
  • Prescribe cost effectively and according to best practice and provide prescribing information and advice to Pharmacists, Shared Care GPs and hospital staff.
  • Undertake service‑user centred assessments, care planning, monitoring, evaluation and reviews in practice and outreach settings.
  • Blood Borne Virus (BBV) management (risk assessment, pre and post‑test counselling, testing and immunisation).
  • Deliver health promotion and harm reduction interventions in a client‑centred manner (e.g. safer sex, contraception, nutrition and healthy living).
  • Promote and deliver immunisation against Hepatitis B in line with national guidance.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of client clinical database; coordinate data entry and retrieval searches and reports to meet the internal and external service requirements as appropriate and ensuring data security at all times.
Person Specification
  • RCGP Qualifications Level 1 (and Level 2 or willingness to work towards).
  • Experience of working within substance misuse (desirable).
