Do you believe every young person deserves to feel seen, supported, and included in their education?

Several inclusive and forward-thinking secondary schools across Northampton are looking to appoint Inclusion Support Practitioners from September 2025. These schools work with a diverse student population, including pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, autism, and those at risk of disengagement or exclusion.

This is a high-impact, student-facing role—ideal for someone passionate about inclusion, resilience, and restoring confidence in learners who face barriers to education.

Responsibilities
  • Working 1:1 or in small groups to support students with additional needs or challenging behaviour
  • Implementing tailored interventions focused on emotional regulation, social development, and engagement
  • Building positive, consistent relationships with pupils who require extra support
  • Collaborating closely with SENDCos, pastoral staff, and external professionals
  • Helping maintain an inclusive, respectful, and calm learning environment
  • Acting as a trusted adult and advocate for students navigating complex personal or educational challenges
What We're Looking For
  • Has a calm, empathetic, and trauma-informed approach to behaviour
  • Is committed to inclusion and understands the importance of stability and routine
  • Has experience supporting young people in education, care, youth work, or similar settings
  • Is confident supporting pupils with SEMH, ASD, or those at risk of exclusion
  • Can work flexibly within a multidisciplinary team
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or is willing to obtain one)
What You'll Gain
  • A long-term, full-time position with the potential to go permanent
  • The opportunity to build lasting relationships and make a measurable difference
  • Weekly pay with competitive rates
  • Access to over 2,500 accredited CPD courses through The National College, including trauma-informed practice, restorative approaches, and mental health in schools
  • Ongoing support from an experienced team of education consultants who understand your role

This is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to transition into specialist education, mental health support, or therapeutic roles in schools.
