A leading healthcare provider in Reading is seeking an Inclusion Midwife to enhance equity in health outcomes for all social groups accessing Maternity Services. The successful candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders to promote inclusion and assist disadvantaged groups. Ideal candidates are NMC registered midwives with a strong understanding of clinical governance. This role offers a dynamic environment focused on quality care.
The overarching aim and purpose of the role of Inclusion Midwife is to support RBFT maternity to achieve equity in health outcomes for all social groups accessing our Maternity Service; targeting support and interventions to the most disadvantaged groups to improve service quality and address inequalities of access, service provision and healthcare outcomes.
The Inclusion Midwife will work strategically to raise awareness of inequalities amongst vulnerable groups to dispel misperceptions and provide assurance that safe, quality care will be provided and ensuring any barriers that prohibit service users from accessing care are removed.
The Inclusion Midwife will take a role, led by the Consultant Midwives and Compliance Lead Midwife in delivering an inclusion framework in Maternity. This will support the Trust\'s commitment to fostering an inclusive working environment that promotes equality of opportunity and diversity for all staff members, recognising that a workforce that represents the community that it serves delivers a better experience for service users and better outcomes.
Whilst the Inclusion Midwife will be based within Maternity working closely with maternity colleagues, they will be a contributor to Trust wide equality diversity and inclusion (EDI) activities, supporting and working in collaboration with the Trust EDI team, Staff Inclusion Networks and other key internal and external stakeholders to deliver the parts of the NHS People Plan pertaining to EDI
