A regional Police force is looking for an employment lawyer to work in their in‑house legal department at their Chelmsford HQ. Please note, agile/hybrid working will be on offer for this role.

Applicants should be qualified as a Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive, with a valid practising certificate and a minimum of five years' experience handling employment tribunal cases, ideally within a Respondent or predominantly Respondent practice.

The main purpose of the role is to deliver expert, timely, and strategic legal advice on employment law matters within the policing context, supporting the force in managing complex people issues, ensuring legal compliance, reducing litigation risk, and enhancing internal capability through training, policy development, and continuous professional development.

The role will be full‑time, permanent and salary will be 50k to 55k depending on experience.
