Implementation Lead (Cornerstone LMS)
Contract: Civil Service Learning (Learning Frameworks 2.0)
Location: UK-based, remote with occasional travel
Reports To: Head of Learning Technology
1‑year fixed term contract

Job Description

As the Implementation Lead you will be responsible for the end‑to‑end deployment of the Cornerstone platform for the Learning Frameworks 2.0 program. This includes configuration, integration, stakeholder engagement, training coordination, and ensuring the platform meets the needs of multiple government departments and complies with public sector standards.

What we’re looking for
  • Proven experience implementing Cornerstone LMS in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments.
  • Relevant Cornerstone implementation certification
  • Strong understanding of LMS configuration, user management, content workflows, and reporting.
  • Relevant industry certifications, such as MCSE
  • In‑depth experience of design, implementation, and management of relevant technology stacks
  • Strong technical knowledge of architecture, operations, and security of relevant technology stacks
Desirable
  • Experience with public sector learning
  • Experience in service design, accessibility, and instructional design.

What you’ll be doing
  • Designing and implementing enterprise applications to meet business requirements and security standards.
  • Managing and maintaining enterprise applications, including servers, agents, policies, and tasks.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues such as server performance, agent deployment, and policy enforcement.
  • Developing and implementing security policies and procedures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the application.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to other team members and operations.
  • Working closely with other IT teams to integrate systems and applications.
  • Monitoring and analysing system performance metrics to identify and resolve issues proactively.
  • Developing and maintaining documentation related to McAfee ePO environments and procedures.
Platform Implementation & Configuration
  • Lead the technical and functional implementation of the Cornerstone LMS, including configuration of learning paths, user roles, content hierarchies, and workflows.
  • Coordinate workshops to map user groups, content flows, and admin requirements across audiences.
  • Oversee platform walkthroughs and demos for internal teams and stakeholders.
Integration & Data Management
  • Co‑ordinate LMS implementation activities with integrations for data exchange, reporting, and automation of learning operations.
  • Collaborate with designers and technical leads to ensure configuration meets end‑to‑end solution requirements and resolve platform gaps.
  • Review and input on technical integration documentation.
Stakeholder Engagement & Training
  • Liaise with internal teams, Cornerstone representatives, and government stakeholders to align implementation with strategic goals.
  • Support training plans for admin groups and helpdesk users, including train‑the‑trainer models and platform onboarding.
Project Management & Reporting
  • Maintain and update the integrated program plan with milestones, dependencies, and risks relating to implementation.
  • Track progress against contractual deliverables.
  • Provide regular updates to governance boards and elevate issues as needed.
