Job summary

A local authority service provider is seeking a reliable Refuse Driver for a 7-month contract in Wareham. This role involves driving a Category C vehicle and assisting in waste collection operations across the community. The ideal candidate will have a Full Category C Driving Licence, a valid CPC, and experience in waste management. You will ensure safe operation of the vehicle while providing excellent service and teamwork in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
• Previous experience in waste management or similar driving role.
• Full Category C (Class 2) Driving Licence.
• Valid CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
• Digital Tachograph Card.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate refuse collection vehicles in compliance with safety regulations.
• Carry out routine vehicle checks to ensure it is roadworthy.
• Drive designated routes for waste collection.
• Assist with loading duties including lifting heavy bins.
• Communicate effectively with team for efficient route completion.
• Report issues such as missed collections or vehicle faults.
