Job summary

A leading delivery service provider in Coventry is seeking a qualified Vehicle Technician to maintain a diverse fleet. You will perform a full range of inspections and repairs on vehicles and trailers in a fully equipped workshop. Ideal candidates will have advanced qualifications (IMI Level 3 or equivalent), experience on LCV/HGV vehicles, and a valid UK driving licence. Full-time hours with a rotating shift pattern and an attractive compensation package including a competitive salary and various benefits.

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified mechanic with advanced automotive qualifications.
  • Experience with a wide range of vehicles, particularly LCV/HGV.
  • Full manual UK driving licence, preferably with HGV trailer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on vehicles.

Working Hours

Full time, 39.5 hours per week.

  • Rotating 3‑week shift pattern: example rotation—week 1: working between 06:00‑14:30 Tuesday, Saturday; week 2: working between 13:00‑21:30 Monday to Friday; week 3: working between 06:00‑14:30 Sunday to Thursday.
  • Permanent night shift available Monday to Friday.
  • Weekend working also required on a rotational basis.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary: £39,715 per annum plus a shift allowance of £87.58 per week when working the 13:00‑21:30 shift or £131.38 weekly shift allowance for the Night Shift. Additional weekend supplement on Saturday (£52.10 per shift) and Sunday (£104.20 per shift) is applicable. You may be eligible for a welcome bonus of £1,500*.

Role Summary

With a fleet of over 49,000 vehicles, including traditional fuel and electric vehicles, LCVs and HGVs, maintaining our vehicles is a true team effort. Responsibilities
  • You’ll perform a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.
  • You’ll use your own personal toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repair light / heavy goods vehicles.
  • You’ll also have access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in our modern, fully equipped workshops.
Qualifications
  • Qualified mechanic: you’re fully qualified to an advanced level (IMI Level 3 in Heavy vehicle or equivalent). You’ve got your own toolkit for standard repairs.
  • Varied vehicle experience: Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles, for example LCV / HGV.
  • Valid UK driving licence: You hold a full manual UK driving licence, preferably an HGV licence with trailer experience for Heavy technicians.
  • High working standards: you take pride in your work and do what is necessary to make sure the job is done effectively.
  • Flexible to service demands: you’re able to work on a flexible shift rota. You’re always willing to support your team where necessary.
