Job summary

A leading engineering recruitment agency is looking for 2 Hydraulic Fitters to work in Burton on Trent on a temporary to permanent basis. The role involves overhauling and testing hydraulic equipment, ensuring quality and safety in the assembly process. Candidates should have a recognized engineering qualification and a strong understanding of hydraulic systems. This position offers a competitive salary and day shifts from Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of hydraulics with ability to accurately assemble and test products.
  • Knowledge of cleanliness requirements and safety precautions in pressure testing.
  • Experience in a similar role with good hand skills in an engineering workshop.

Responsibilities

  • Overhaul and test hydraulic products including pumps and valves.
  • Inspect incoming components for defects and carry out quality inspections.
  • Create technical documentation and adhere to Health, Safety & Environmental instructions.

Job Title: 2 x Hydraulics Fitter

Location: Burton on Trent

Salary: Competitive - 12 week Temp to Perm

Shifts: DAYS ONLY

Hours: Monday to Thursday: 7:00am - 4:00pm & Friday: 7:00am - 1:00pm

TXM Recruit are recruiting 2 x Hydraulic Operatives on a 12 week temporary to permanent basis.

Job Purpose

The role is to overhaul and test the company's range of products which includes Hydraulic Pumps, Motors, Valves, Hydraulic Power units, High Pressure Hydraulic tooling such as Press equipment.

Key Responsibilities & Activities
  • Fault finding down to component level using test results to pin point failures Keeping the work environment safe.
  • Precise assembly and test of Hydraulic Pumps, Motors, servo valves, manifolds and hydraulic actuators (OE and Aftermarket)
  • Inspection of incoming components checking for defects and imperfections
  • Testing assembled products to strict criteria required within the rail sector
  • Carrying out quality inspections at all stages of the assembly process
  • Creating and completing technical documentation and procedures
  • Working within clean room environments
  • To cover stores area as required
  • To preserve and maintain all company tools and equipment in your care Mentor trainees / apprentices when applicable
  • Work to and support all relevant 5S activities.
  • Report any near misses
  • Ensure that waste is disposed of in the correct manner.
  • Report any issues or problems with jobs to the line manager.
  • Adhere at all times to the company's Health, Safety & Environmental instructions, and requirements.
  • Take on any other reasonable responsibilities or tasks that are within the employee's skills and abilities.
  • Comply with Company and statutory Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental and Personnel policies and procedures
Background & Experience
  • Understanding of hydraulics with ability to accurately assemble and test the company's wide range of products. The ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge and experience of cleanliness requirements in Hydraulics and safety precautions in Pressure Testing.
  • Good knowledge of general engineering practices such as overhauling units/measuring/ use of measuring equipment/ component inspection/Testing and Fault Finding.
  • Experience within a similar role
  • Good hand skills in an engineering workshop.
Qualifications/Education Required
  • Recognised engineering qualification required.
  • Good understanding or mathematics
