Job Description

The Job Mission
As a Construction HVAC Engineer, you will support the installation and oversight of HVAC systems at Hinkley Point C. You'll ensure works are delivered safely, to quality, and to schedule, working closely with EDF and contractor teams. Your missions will involve both technical and supervisory responsibilities in the Nuclear Island and Balance of Plant facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise HVAC construction activities ensuring nuclear safety and quality compliance
  • Review HVAC drawings, schematics, and P&IDs to resolve constructability issues
  • Oversee installation of ductwork, fans, air handling units, and fire dampers
  • Prepare and review work packs and documentation in line with HPC processes
  • Support inspections, testing, and commissioning of HVAC systems
  • Liaise with EDF, contractors, and suppliers to maintain schedules and resolve issues
  • Promote compliance with HPC safety rules and Permit to Work procedures

Essential Skills:

  • HNC in Building Services Engineering or NVQ Level 3 Heating & Ventilation
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant HVAC site–based experience
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs
  • Proven experience in high–compliance sectors (nuclear, oil & gas, defence)
  • Strong understanding of HVAC installation and supervision requirements

Desired Skills:

  • Nuclear project or regulated infrastructure experience
  • Familiarity with HPC site procedures (e.g., SONIMS, Completions)
  • Experience using SAP, Maximo, or similar systems
  • City & Guilds F–Gas 2079 Level 2 (Category I)
  • BOHS P601 – LEV Testing
