Job description

We are seeking a passionate and versatile Humanities Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school team. This role is suitable for teachers with expertise in any of the following subjects: History, Geography, Religious Education (RE), PSHE, or Social Sciences. You will inspire pupils to develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and a deeper understanding of the world around them. Beginning ASAP.

Duties as a Humanities Teacher:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons across one or more humanities subjects at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students, including those with SEND or EAL.

• Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and setting clear targets.

• Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.

• Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development, and extracurricular activities such as clubs, trips, or themed events.

• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school initiatives to enrich the wider learning experience.

Ideal Humanities Teacher:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or recognised equivalent.

• Strong subject knowledge in at least one humanities discipline.

• Ability to teach across multiple humanities subjects is advantageous.

• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills as a Humanities Teacher.

• Ability to inspire, motivate, and engage students of all abilities.

• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
