A collaborative educational organization is seeking a Humanities Academic Coach to support students in History or Geography. Qualifications

  • Hold a humanities-related degree (e.g., History, Geography, Politics or similar).
  • Motivated to move into teaching.
  • Experience working with children is desirable but not essential.

Overview

Humanities Academic Coach — Immediate start until July 2026. £80 - £100 per day. School location: Ward of Yardley. Support in either History or Geography for KS3/KS4.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group support in History or Geography.
  • Run retrieval practice, exam-technique workshops, and literacy/extended-writing boosters.
  • Help pupils interpret sources, evaluate evidence, master case studies, and map/fieldwork skills.
  • Track pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers.
Candidate

You hold a humanities-related degree (e.g., History, Geography, Politics or similar) and communicate ideas clearly. You can break down complex concepts, build rapport quickly, and keep sessions structured and purposeful. You are organised, reliable, and motivated to move into teaching.

Requirements
  • Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.
  • Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
  • Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Desire to work in education/with children – Genuine interest in supporting student progress.
  • Experience working with children – Any relevant experience such as tutoring, mentoring, or volunteering is desirable but not essential.
