About the Role

We’re looking for a Cast Technician to join our team at the High Temperature Research Centre in Coventry. In this role, you’ll support the manufacturing process from initial request through to delivery of components. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operating bridgeman‑style furnaces
  • Maintaining a safe working environment
  • Performing inspection processes to ensure quality and on‑time delivery
  • Following work instructions and route cards accurately
  • Caring for casting equipment, including preventative maintenance
  • Supporting manufacturing engineers with cost estimates and lead times
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in vacuum furnace operation (vacuum systems, temperature control, inert gas usage)
  • BTEC/Level 3 qualification in engineering or equivalent experience
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Hands‑on problem‑solving approach with a can‑do attitude
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good computing skills (Excel)
Desirable
  • Knowledge of lost‑wax processing techniques
  • Foundry or maintenance experience
  • Experience operating large technical equipment
  • Analytical skills using multiple data sources
