Regional HSE Manager

Role Purpose

Deliver and implement CBRE’s Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Strategy for the UK, engaging with property‑related clients and stakeholders. Deliver measurable improvements in health, safety and environmental performance across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Champion ongoing improvements of CBRE’s safety and environmental management systems in accordance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and PAS 99, ensuring continuous accreditations.
  • Conduct gap‑analysis visits and reports, perform on‑site reviews, and keep the programme of external surveillance audits up to date.
  • Undertake HSE audits, inspections and site visits to support property management teams in achieving and maintaining relevant HSE compliance standards and accreditations.
  • Advise people within buildings on HSE system issues and influence change when gaps are identified.
  • Identify and track trends, working with property management teams to mitigate high‑risk items.
  • Help develop health, safety and environmental procedures in collaboration with the HSE team; ensure operational and regional staff are informed of new processes.
  • Ensure policies, procedures and guidance are followed and evolved to support CBRE HSE and client objectives.
  • Monitor and report on HSE performance and compliance against client‑specific targets and attend client meetings as required.
  • Review reported incidents and support FM teams in serious H&S investigations.
  • Monitor changes in legislation and best practice to ensure continuous legal compliance and best practice in the UK.
  • Attend regional team meetings and provide HSE briefings to increase awareness and engagement.
  • Advise on contractor control, ensuring contractors are audited for adherence to our processes and safe working procedures.
  • Provide support and technical advice to Property Management and Facilities teams to enable them to fulfill their health, safety and environmental responsibilities.
  • Liaise and support property teams to ensure proactive compliance with online health and safety management systems.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Conversant with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems.
  • Experience operating in a complex, commercial mixed‑use property portfolio or managing agent environment.
  • Ability to analyse information and recommend informed solutions to problems.
  • Competent IT skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with internal and external contacts at all management levels.
  • High level of professionalism with an appetite for improving standards; ability to lead as an ambassador promoting a health, safety and environmental culture.
  • Ability to work effectively alone and as part of a multi‑functional team.
  • NEBOSH – General Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Graduate IOSH – desired.
