Location: Leicester

Hours: 21 hours per week – Wednesday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (Job Share)

Salary: £19,872

Contract: Permanent, Part-Time

Are you an experienced HR Officer looking for a part‑time role where you can still have real impact and ownership?

We're looking for a Part‑Time HR Officer to join a friendly, supportive HR team in Leicester on a job‑share basis. This is a hands‑on HR Officer role covering day‑to‑day HR administration, employee lifecycle and first‑line HR support to managers and staff.

This opportunity would suit an HR Officer or HR Administrator who enjoys being a trusted point of contact, wants variety in their day, and is looking for a permanent, part‑time position (Wednesday to Friday).

The Role - HR Officer (Part-Time)

As HR Officer, you will:

  • Prepare and maintain HR documentation, including contracts, offer letters, and HR correspondence.

  • Support the end‑to‑end recruitment process – posting adverts, arranging interviews, issuing offer paperwork, and updating records.

  • Carry out new‑starter inductions and ensure personnel files and HR systems are accurate and up to date.

  • Provide day‑to‑day HR administration support to Directors and managers – absence management, basic payroll queries and employee relations paperwork.

  • Liaise with external HR advisers/consultants to ensure all HR activity is legally compliant.

  • Attend and support disciplinary and grievance meetings (note‑taking and admin support).

  • Monitor and update HR records such as sickness, absence, maternity/paternity, probation, and pensions.

  • Assist with HR reporting and ad hoc HR projects, supporting continuous improvement in the HR function.

About You - HR Officer Profile

We're looking for a HR Officer who can bring:

  • Previous experience as an HR Officer, HR Coordinator, HR Administrator or similar HR role.

  • Strong organisation and administrative skills, with excellent attention to detail.

  • Confident communication skills – able to deal professionally with confidential and sensitive HR issues.

  • Good IT skills – competent with Microsoft Office and comfortable using HR / people systems.

  • Practical understanding of HR processes across recruitment, onboarding, absence, HR documentation, and basic ER.

A CIPD qualification is not essential – we're more interested in solid, hands‑on HR Officer / HR admin experience.

What's on Offer

  • Competitive pro‑rata salary – £19,872.

  • 21 hours per week, Wednesday to Friday – ideal for work‑life balance.

  • Permanent, part‑time HR Officer position with long‑term stability.

  • 28 days holiday (pro‑rata, including bank holidays), increasing with service.

  • Three additional customary days at Christmas.

  • Friendly, supportive working environment with a close‑knit team.

  • Free on‑site parking.

  • Staff discount scheme and other benefits.

If you're an experienced HR Officer or HR professional looking for a part‑time role where you can really add value, we'd love to hear from you.
