HR Manager (Interim) – SEN School

Job Title: HR Manager – Interim (Fixed Term)

Location: Lambeth, South East London

Employment Type: Full Time – Monday to Friday, Office-Based

Start Date: December / January (ASAP following DBS)

Salary: Equivalent to £50,000 per annum (approx. £25.64 per hour PAYE)

Contract Length: Until end of May 2026

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and confident Interim HR Manager to support a highly respected SEN school in Lambeth. This full-time, office-based role will cover HR and payroll operations for a fixed period, beginning with a handover in December / January and continuing until May 2026.

The successful candidate must have strong experience in school HR, including recruitment, payroll, compliance, and safeguarding administration. CIPD qualification and experience with CIPHR MIS are highly desirable. An Enhanced DBS will be required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes
  • Produce HR MIS data and reporting for the People Committee
  • Attend and take minutes / notes for People-related committee meetings
  • Process payroll and manage monthly checks
  • Respond to day-to-day staff HR and payroll enquiries
  • Support staff investigations and contribute to policy updates
  • Maintain and update the HR system, ensuring accurate employee records
  • Oversee safeguarding compliance, including SCR updates and checks
  • Coordinate and monitor all mandatory staff training
  • Handle ad-hoc HR projects and support senior leaders as required

  • CIPD qualification preferred
