Job description

We are recruiting for a HR consultant, ER specialist, on behalf of our client to work in the Sheffield area. This role is a full time contract working 8.45-5.00 Monday to Friday. This is initially until the end April 2026.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage end-to-end employee relations casework, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, and absence management.
  • Handle complex and high-risk cases with sound judgment and professionalism.
  • Build strong relationships with trade unions and act as a trusted point of contact for negotiations and consultations.
  • Partner with investigators and stakeholders to ensure fair, timely, and compliant outcomes.
  • Provide expert advice to managers, guiding them through sensitive situations and ensuring consistency with policy and legislation.

  • Proven experience in managing complex ER cases from start to resolution.
  • Strong understanding of employment law and best practice.
  • Ability to think on your feet, make informed decisions, and confidently reach outcomes.
  • Skilled in stakeholder management and union engagement.
