About the Team

This role reports to the Casework & Change Manager and will offer a great opportunity to work in a successful HR Policy & Employment Relations team to enable good people management practice across the council.

About the Role

You will be responsible for providing specialist advice on complex HR issues to managers and senior leaders across the Council with regards to the following:

  • Employee Relations: managing a portfolio of employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance and performance management in an effective and timely manner.
  • Change management: supporting and leading numerous change initiatives to ensure successful implementation using expert knowledge of change management principles and best practice.
  • Day-to-day responsibilities: coaching and supporting line managers to ensure sound management of employee relations cases; using knowledge of employment law to identify and monitor key trends in ER casework; identifying opportunities to improve policies, line management ways of working and capability challenges.
  • Stakeholder management: engaging with key stakeholders, colleagues within the HR function and Trade Union representatives.
