Job description

York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has two exciting opportunities within the Workforce & OD Directorate as a Human Resources Advisor.

We are looking for pro‑active, forward‐thinking individuals to join our team of HR Advisors. You must show resilience and the ability to manage your own workload effectively. Although you will be working as part of the wider HR Team, you need to work autonomously. The successful candidate must have previous experience of providing complex HR advice and guidance or be an experienced manager of staff in a customer‑focused environment.

You will be supporting Care Groups and Corporate functions with a full range of Employee Relations issues; for further information about the specifics of the role, please consult the attached Job Description. You will promote the implementation of Human Resources Policies in a fair way on a case‑by‑case basis, whilst coaching and supporting managers in ensuring consistency across the organisation and developing a Just and Learning culture.

We have two part‑time roles (30 hours and 25 hours) and can be based at York or Scarborough Hospital; however we continue to work remotely. There will be a requirement to attend face‑to‑face meetings at any of the Trust sites as required.

Interviews will take place on the Wednesday 17 December and these will be conducted face to face.

We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor who has worked in an environment where they are the first point of contact for managers providing professional, high‑quality advice and guidance to facilitate the early resolution of difficult, complex or sensitive employee relations issues, ensuring that employees are treated fairly and the risks associated with such cases are effectively managed. In addition to providing timely advisory service to managers and supporting the HR Support Team on general operational issues such as terms and conditions of service, family friendly policies, annual leave, flexible working, initial stages of sickness absence, performance management, conduct investigations, civility respect and resolution cases.

You must be able to communicate effectively and confidently to a wide range of audiences. If you are self‑motivated and are looking to expand your knowledge and further your career within HR, this could be the role you have been waiting for!
