Overview

Housing Options Caseworker Exeter 5275213 £17.29 per hour PAYE. 1-2 months initial contract. Minimum 40% on site/office presence. The candidate is expected to attend pre-arranged face to face appointments with clients at the Civic Centre offices as part of the regular working week. The Council are seeking a dedicated Housing Officer to deliver a high-performing housing management service for Council tenants and residents in temporary accommodation.

Key accountabilities
  • Build strong, proactive relationships with tenants and stakeholders.
  • Manage tenancies and neighbourhoods, including tackling anti-social behaviour.
  • Conduct regular property and neighbourhood inspections.
  • Support residents through tenancy management, advice, and involvement.
  • Work closely with colleagues, partner agencies, and residents to enhance services.
  • Represent the Council in legal matters where required.
Key criteria
  • Relevant qualification (HNC or equivalent) or substantial proven housing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation, landlord & tenant law.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in housing management with a social landlord.
  • Experience managing ASB cases and resolving complaints.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
