Overview

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a premier team of Housekeeper’s at the 48 Force Support Squadron, Royal Air Force (RAF) Lakenheath, United Kingdom.

Primary Responsibilities

The purpose of this position is to perform the full range of cleaning duties associated with lodging operations. The housekeeper will perform a full range of cleaning duties in an assigned area which may consist of guest rooms, corridors, pet-friendly rooms and/or restrooms. The housekeeper will also keep a stock of cleaning materials and equipment needed to do the work and will report to the supervisors when more materials are needed or when equipment is in need of repair or replacement. Performs other related duties as required.

Key Skills Required
  1. Knowledge of the proper uses of a variety of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions and how to remove different kinds of stains from a wide variety of surfaces.
  2. Ability to independently complete the full range of duties on their own and without instructions.
  3. Must be able to use, clean and make adjustments to power cleaning equipment such as steamers, vacuums and dryers.
  4. Knowledge of established safety standards and procedures. Ability to read and follow simple signs and specific written and/or oral instructions.
  5. Previous housekeeping experience required.
Conditions of Employment
  1. You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations.
  2. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft and you may also be required to travel to the US or other countries, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training; this position may also be coded as mission essential.
  3. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period.
  4. Overtime may be required.
  5. You may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent.
  6. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  7. Your work hours will be 39 hours per week on a rostered schedule (any 5 days out of the 7 days) where start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with the organization’s flexible working policies.
  8. The employee may be required to work uncommon duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends and/or public holidays.
  9. Must be physically able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
  10. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical.
  11. Must be able to continuously stand, bend, stoop, and reach for long periods of time. The position may include exposure to pets/pet environments.
  12. The incumbent must attend all formal and informal training applicable to this position deemed necessary by the supervisor.
