A not-for-profit care organization in Cottingham is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper for Overton House Residential Care Home. We’re looking for a dedicated Housekeeper to help us maintain a warm, safe, and spotless home for our residents at Overton House Residential Care Home, part of the HICA Group, in Cottingham.

Pay & Hours

£12.22 per hour
18 hours per week (2 x 6 hour shifts working 8am - 2pm and 2pm - 8pm)
Working to a rota covering 7 days per week (every other weekend)

The Role

• Promote and encourage residents’ privacy and personal space using a person-centred approach.
• Using the equipment and products provided, take responsibility to ensure levels of cleanliness are maintained to the highest standards and all practical measures are taken to minimise the risk of infection. This includes general cleanliness of the service and dealing with incidents involving bodily fluids, etc.
• Ensure the correct use of cleaning chemicals when required, and that they are stored safely and securely in locked cupboards after use.
• Correct use and maintenance of cleaning equipment.

Additional Information

The HICA Group is a not-for-profit organisation providing a range of care services to elderly clients and people with learning difficulties across care homes, residential settings and in the community.

Overton House is a specialist dementia care home for 40 people in Cottingham, West Hull. We have amenities including a kitchen for residents and family, a hairdresser, and an Activities Coordinator. We also have three gardens where residents can grow vegetables and flowers.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
