Job description

This is a chance to join our friendly team on Bluebell Ward. Our team supports those with a functional mental health illness. We work proactively with our patient group and their loved ones promoting independence and choice in their care.

Bluebell Ward accommodates up to 14 inpatients in single, ensuite bedrooms to provide privacy and dignity to support recovery. Like the other facilities within the exciting Making Room for Dignity programme, Bluebell Ward has been designed in collaboration with staff, service users and carers to create the best possible environment for everyone, with quiet places and green spaces.

Main duties of the job
  • Serve food to patients
  • Keep kitchen clean and tidy including pot washing
  • Ensure patient menu's are completed taking into consideration allergies and dietary needs
  • Bed changing
  • Room cleaning for admission and discharge

Job responsibilities
  • the post-holder will be required to serve food to patients and so must hold a food hygiene certificate.
  • the post-holder will be responsible for updating any dietary needs, allergens and needs of the patients.
  • Complete menu's on a daily basis with patients ensuring choice, health promotion and needs are considered. this is completed electronically so the post-holder will need to be able to use the maple app.
  • to ensure that all beds are changed regularly, mattresses are cleaned and turned as per trust policy and complete audit for this.
  • To ensure that all stock on the ward is rotated and in date, completing a stock check order form ensuring that the ward has all equipment and stock needed to function.
  • To ensure that all rooms are deep cleaned on discharge and ready for an admission.
  • To ensure that all equipment is cleaned and ready for use by the nursing team.
  • To ensure all equipment has been serviced and is safe to use.
  • To facilitate hydration for all patients including Fresh water in every room and that the hydration station is stocked and changed regularly.
