Overview

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern is 7 days, no night shifts.

Senior Staff Nurse
  • To facilitate efficient and effective hospital level interventions at home directed by hospital based Consultant Paediatricians.
  • To facilitate flow within Paediatric setting to prevent paediatric admission.
  • To perform highly skilled acute nursing care and assessment for paediatrics at home.
  • To provide parental teaching to support safe care of the Paediatric patient in the home environment.
  • To work closely with the ward managers, paediatricians, lead nurses and flow team on a daily basis to expedite referrals.
  • To participate in the development of new pathways of care within the Hospital at home Paediatrics and OPATS service.
  • To collaborate with the clinical team to assess and refine service to meet evolving needs and drive continuous improvement.
The role of the H@H service
  • To provide delivery of safe care in the right place at right time as outlined in the NHS GGC Quality Strategy.
  • To ensure maintenance of capacity and flow within the hospital setting.
  • To provide safe and effective evidence-based care at home.
