Job description

It's an exciting time in our Pricing and Analytics department here at AXA UK. Our transformation programme has recently been relaunched, aligned to AXA Retail's new Pricing and Analytics strategy. We're investing a lot in growing our department in size and capability across our IT systems, analytical toolset and learning and development. We'd love to hear from motivated people who can help us deliver our commitments to our business, our customers, and our people.

We’re looking for an experienced Home Market Pricing Manager to lead pricing strategy and performance across our broker-distributed Home insurance portfolio. You’ll play a critical role in shaping our approach to the intermediated market—balancing commercial growth, technical rigour and strong broker partnerships.

You’ll develop and optimise pricing strategies that reflect broker channel dynamics and support our growth ambitions, strengthen our competitive position, and deliver sustainable profitability.

Working closely with Underwriting, Trading, Risk Pricing, Data Science, and Finance, you’ll ensure pricing decisions are data-led, commercially robust, and aligned with FCA expectations.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. We’re also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Leading the development, delivery and refinement of pricing strategies specifically for broker-distributed Home products.
  • Using advanced modelling techniques, market insight, and customer behaviour data to improve pricing accuracy and portfolio performance.
  • Managing the regular price change process for the broker portfolio, ensuring strong governance and compliance with FCA pricing practices.
  • Overseeing the build, review and implementation of predictive models (GLMs, machine learning models, demand models, propensity models).
  • Monitoring the competitive landscape, using external benchmarking, aggregators, market data and competitor actions to inform pricing decisions and deliver profitable growth
  • Producing insightful recommendations and presenting them to senior leadership, using data-led storytelling to influence strategic decisions.
  • Coaching and developing junior analysts to strengthen technical capability and knowledge across the team.
What you’ll bring:
  • Strong pricing experience within General Insurance - ideally Home with exposure to the broker/intermediated distribution channel.
  • Excellent technical capabilities in pricing, statistical modelling, and portfolio analytics using tools such as Emblem, Radar, R, or Python.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into clear recommendations that balance technical integrity with commercial outcomes.
  • Good understanding of UK GI regulation, including FCA pricing practices, fair value assessments and governance expectations for intermediated channels.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and working in cross-functional teams spanning Pricing, Underwriting, Trading and Finance.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical pricing considerations to non-technical audiences.
  • A passion for developing others and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture, previous experience in managing direct reports is highly desirable.
  • A degree in a numerate discipline (e.g., mathematics, statistics, economics) or equivalent experience is preferred.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.

  • Annual company & performance-based bonus
  • Contributory pension scheme (up to 12% employer contributions)

  • Private medical cover
  • 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
  • Opportunity to buy up to 5 extra days leave or sell up to 5 days leave
