Location: Tower Hamlets (near Mile End)

Position: HLTA - SEND Provision

Contract: Full-time, term-time only

Contract Dates: 5th January - 22nd July 2026

Pay: Dependent upon experience - 120 - 150

SANZA Teaching Agency is excited to be recruiting an experienced and passionate Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join the SEND provision of a welcoming 2-form entry primary school in Tower Hamlets. Ideally located just a short walk from Mile End station, this school offers a supportive, inclusive, and nurturing environment where staff and pupils thrive.

This is a full-time, term-time role running from 5th January to 22nd July 2026, perfect for an HLTA looking to make a meaningful impact in a well-resourced SEND setting.

About the SEND Provision

You will play a key role teaching within the school's SEND class, which includes:

  • 3 children with complex needs who attend full-time
  • An additional 5 pupils who join at scheduled times throughout the day
  • A stable team of 2 full-time Teaching Assistants working alongside the HLTA
  • Close planning and support from the school's experienced SENDCO

The provision is structured, nurturing, and designed to support communication, sensory regulation, emotional development, and personalised progress.

Your Responsibilities
  • Deliver daily teaching within the SEND class using adaptive, structured, and nurturing approaches
  • Plan lessons collaboratively with the SENDCO, ensuring each child's individual needs and EHCP targets are fully supported
  • Lead small-group and targeted interventions focusing on communication, independence, literacy, numeracy, and life skillsWork closely with two dedicated TAs to provide consistent, high-quality support
  • Use visuals, sensory strategies, structured routines, and communication aids effectively
  • Maintain calm, positive behaviour-support strategies across the provision
  • Monitor pupil progress, contribute to assessment, and support personalised learning plans
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure consistent, wraparound support
About You
  • HLTA qualification or substantial teaching assistant experience with confidence delivering whole-class input
  • Strong experience supporting children with complex SEND, including ASD, communication needs, sensory needs, and global developmental delay
  • Calm, patient, nurturing, and highly adaptable
  • Skilled in creating structured, accessible learning opportunities
  • Confident working within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Passionate about enabling every child to flourish academically, emotionally, and socially
