About Us

We are looking for a compassionate, experienced, and proactive HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) to join our specialist SEND provision in Redbridge, working with children and young people aged 5-25 who are currently unable to access mainstream education.

This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable learners facing challenges such as:

  • Medical needs
  • Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA)
  • Complex SEND and behavioural needs
  • Risk of permanent exclusion
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver tailored 1:1 or small group teaching for students with diverse needs
  • Manage a caseload of learners who are out of school or in transition
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with EHCP targets
  • Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team (e.g. SENCOs, therapists, social workers)
  • Support the reintegration of students back into full-time education or specialist settings
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with families and professionals
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience supporting learners with SEND, SEMH, EBSA, or behavioural needs
  • Strong subject knowledge in English, Maths and/or Science
  • Confidence delivering lessons independently
  • Excellent behaviour management and emotional resilience
  • A nurturing, flexible and trauma-informed approach to teaching
  • A valid child and adult DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
