Salary: Starting Salary is £36,363 (Level one) rising to £39,152 per annum (pro rata for part-time)

About the Role

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Highways Safety Inspector to join our Highway Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a high-performing project team delivering vital highway maintenance across Nottingham City.

As a Highway Safety Inspector, you will play an integral role in assessing roads and related infrastructure to identify defects and hazards and ensure they meet our relevant safety standards for the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • To inspect and monitor all aspects of highway maintenance and activities affecting the highway
  • To carry out safety/structural inspections and Annual Engineering Inspections (AEI's) by vehicle and on foot
  • To carry out and report on investigations related to accidents and damage claims from members of the public
  • To participate in the operation of the highways' emergency response service and other out-of-hours operations, on a on-call rota basis
About You
  • Able to work to deadlines, good time management.
  • Experience of legislation, standards and regulations appropriate to highway maintenance and management, including the Well-Managed Highway Infrastructure code of practice
The ideal candidate must have
  • LANTRA or be a C & G Accredited Highways Inspector
  • A full driving licence
