Overview

Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Tradewind have a high demand of opportunities for HLTA's to support Primary Schools with PPA cover across Croydon, London!

Location: Croydon, London
Salary: £100-£115 per day, equivalent to £24,000 - £28,000 (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only

About the Role

As an HLTA, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. You will work closely with class teachers to plan and deliver engaging learning activities, cover classes when needed, and provide targeted support for individual pupils and small groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality learning activities across a range of subjects and year groups
  • Provide whole-class cover during teacher absence or PPA time
  • Support the academic, social, and emotional development of pupils
  • Assist in planning, assessment, and reporting as required
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals
  • Lead intervention sessions to close gaps in learning
Qualifications
  • Level 4 Certificate in Teaching & Learning
  • Previous experience providing PPA cover is advantageous
  • Enthusiastic, dependable, and patient
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Available to work full-time (5 days per week) from October 2025
