Overview

We are supporting a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Bury that is looking to appoint a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner to take on additional responsibilities, including delivering lessons, leading small group interventions, and supporting whole-class learning.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and school leaders to help raise standards, promote positive behaviour, and ensure that every child is supported to achieve their potential.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver lessons and cover classes when required, under the direction of teaching staff.
  • Lead small group interventions and provide tailored 1:1 support.
  • Assist teachers in planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons.
  • Support pupils with additional needs to ensure full inclusion in the classroom.
  • Promote positive behaviour and contribute to pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Help create and maintain a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment.
Requirements
  • HLTA status or equivalent qualification is essential.
  • Previous experience working as a HLTA or experienced Teaching Assistant in a school setting.
  • Confidence in delivering lessons and supporting whole-class teaching.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive, patient, and supportive approach.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
