Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking an HGV/Motor Workshop Technician in York to provide support to the Transport team. Responsibilities include vehicle maintenance and ensuring compliance with UK road legislation. Ideal candidates will have an NVQ level 3 qualification in vehicle mechanics and experience in a workshop environment. The role offers a Monday to Friday shift pattern with generous holiday entitlement, including 25 days annual leave and flexible days.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification in vehicle mechanics is essential.
• Experience within an HGV Technician role is desirable but not essential.
• Working to demand objectives and tracking completion.

Responsibilities

• Attend the weekly workshop meeting with active participation.
• Ensure all Health & Safety maintained whilst on-site at work.
• Complete DPR's / NCE / Ilearn.
• Keep the MOT pass rate at above 90%.
• Carry out maintenance and Inspection on a fleet of trailers, tankers and vehicles.
• Ensure compliance with UK road legislation.
• Manage and deliver small projects.
• Maintain all Health and Safety standards as per the company policy.

Skills

Experience within a HGV workshop environment

Working knowledge of a workshop environment and practices

Experience of working within a technical team

Education

NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification in vehicle mechanics
