Qualifications

• Experience working with semi-trailers or heavy vehicles.
• Industry qualifications are highly advantageous.
• EBS diagnostics experience with brands such as Knorr Bremse, Haldex, WABCO.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine inspections, servicing, and repairs on HGV trailers.
• Completion of job sheets and documentation.
• Liaising with the Service and Parts Departments.

Skills

Experience working with semi-trailers or heavy vehicles

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

EBS diagnostics experience

Education

Industry qualifications (City & Guilds or NVQs)

Welding certification

Tools

IRTEC accreditation

Experience with axle manufacturers (BPW, SAF, JOST)

Job description

Overview

We are currently seeking a HGV Trailer Technician on behalf of our Client, an automotive transport solutions company based in the Southampton area.

Salary and Hours

The successful HGV Trailer Technician can expect a salary of up to £44,000 with an OTE of circa £50,000 and working hours Monday to Friday 8:30–5 (some flexibility).

Duties

• Carry out routine inspections, servicing, and repairs on HGV trailers
• Completion of job sheets and documentation
• Liaising with the Service Department and Parts Department
• Completion of MOT preparation

Requirements

• Experience working with semi-trailers or heavy vehicles
• Industry qualifications (City & Guilds or NVQs)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards
• IRTEC accreditation. Desired, but not essential
• EBS diagnostics experience (Knorr Bremse, Haldex, WABCO)
• Welding certification
• Experience with axle manufacturers (BPW, SAF, JOST)
• Tail lift & double-deck maintenance experience
