Overview

HGV Technician

Day shifts • Salary circa £18 per hour - £40k plus overtime

Your future employer have been providing first class solutions for many years. It's the standards that are set in the workshop that go a long to ensuring customer satisfaction at the other end.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out inspections to a varied and diverse fleet, which may include main dealer heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), refuse collection vehicles, road sweepers, hook loaders, light commercial vehicles (vans), trailers and tippers.
  • Routine and preventative maintenance, MOT preparation, and scheduled servicing to DVSA standards.
  • Perform 6- or 8-weekly inspections and correct running defects.
  • Chassis and fabrication work, hydraulics and pneumatics, and improvements to vehicle standards.
  • Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of commercial vehicle mechanical dynamics.
Qualifications
  • Ideally fully qualified (City & Guilds), NVQ or equivalent.
  • Additional accreditations such as IRTEC or EV qualification would be desirable.
  • HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence would be advantageous.
