A leading HGV support company is seeking an experienced HGV Technician / Mechanic. You will work with a close-knit team to perform inspections, repairs, and diagnostics on HGV vehicles. Overview

GBR Recruitment Ltd, are delighted to be working exclusively with a well known HGV units & HGV trailer repair, service / MOT & maintenance business. They provide support to major haulage industry names and are recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic. Established over two decades ago, they have formed a strong reputation in the HGV / haulage industry, keeping clients’ tractor units & trailers on the road UK wide. This haulier support business works on all brands of HGV tractor units and a variety of trailer types, from curtain siders to fridges, boxes and multi-axle specialist load trailers over 100 tonne capacity. The client offers a varied role where you can apply your HGV Mechanic skills to deliver a high end quality service.

You will be joining a small, close knit team of other HGV Technicians / HGV Mechanics.

Responsibilities
  • PDI’s & inspections to high quality standards for varying clients.
  • Carrying out warranty repairs for a variety of customers.
  • Advanced diagnostics & repairs on HGV Tractor Units / Trailers.
  • Delivering professional advice to customers.
Attributes
  • The ability to carry out inspections to MOT standard.
  • A full driving licence.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic OR hydraulic systems along with experience in haulage equipment or plant in general is preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and fault diagnostics.
Desirable
  • HGV class 1 licence would be a plus.

Location & Relocation

This role is commutable from Thrapston, Corby, Kettering, Wellingborough, Rushden, Raunds, Oundle, Stamford, Market Harborough, Burton Latimer, Barton Seagrave, Stanwick, Ringstead, Woodford, Peterborough, Orton Southgate & areas close to these locations. The client would also consider someone prepared to relocate.

This role could suit someone working as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Truck Mechanic, Vehicle Technician, HGV Service Technician, Trailer Technician, Specialist Plant Machinery Engineer, Plant Machinery Engineer, Off Road Vehicles Mechanic, Armoured Vehicles Mechanic, REME. Tracked Vehicles Engineer, Airport Ground Support Engineer (GSE), Railroad Trains Engineer, PCV Engineers, PCV Technician or similar vehicles with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics, etc.
