Overview

HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic

Salary: Up to GBP23.85ph

Contract: Permanent

Shifts: 2 shift patterns available

- Nights: Monday to Thursday, 8:30pm – 7:00am

- Earlies & Lates: 7:00am – 3:30pm / 12:30pm – 9:00pm (1 in 3 Saturday mornings)

The HGV Technician role

Working as part of a skilled workshop team, you’ll carry out maintenance and repairs on HGVs, trailers, and LCVs to keep the fleet running smoothly.

  • Routine servicing, inspections, and repairs to VOSA standards
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs
  • MOT preparation and inspection work
  • Tachograph calibrations and associated checks
  • Maintaining workshop organisation, cleanliness, and stock control
  • Attending manufacturer-specific training to stay up to date with the latest technology
What we’re looking for
  • An experienced HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, or HGV Fitter with strong maintenance and diagnostic skills
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (time-served technicians will be considered)
  • A focus on safety, quality, and teamwork
  • The right to work in the UK
