What You'll Be Doing

As a Roamer/Tramper HGV Driver, you'll be an essential part of our nationwide operation:

• Collecting and delivering vehicles of all shapes and sizes, predominantly accident-damaged, using our modern salvage transporters.

• Supporting multiple Operation Centres (with your home base in St Helens) - covering for holidays and periods of peak demand.

• Staying out 3-4 nights per week (with overnight allowance included).

• Carrying out vehicle checks, inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

This is a hands-on role that requires physical activity and a keen eye for detail - but in return, you'll enjoy a rewarding career with a market leader.

A reasonable salary expectation based on an average on 7 vehicle collections per day, would be approx. £52,516 pa; which includes a Roamer allowance of £3,000 per year. In addition, £45 is payable per night (£30 of which is tax free) for each overnight stay.

What we need from you:

• It's essential that you possess an HGV/LGV Licence, Class 1

• Current CPC

• A good understanding of the EC Drivers Hours and Working Time regulations using a tachograph

• Driving experience in both rural and urban environments

• Great communication skills, both written and verbal

• Excellent customer service skills

• Flexibility to travel and stay away overnight

• Strong attention to detail

• Confident in the use of handheld devices, with experience in the use of basic IT applications

• Adaptable, with the ability to organise and adjust your working day

• Car transportation or recovery experience would be an advantage, but isn't essential
