Qualifications

Job Title: HGV Driver Trainer (Class 1)
Location: Bedford
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday shifts between 0600-1800 depending on Depot Needs

Our client, a leading UK drinks wholesaler and distributor, is looking for an experienced HGV Driver Trainer to join their Bedford-based team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for road safety and driver development. You will be responsible for conducting commercial driver assessments, identifying training needs and delivering both on-road and classroom-based training.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct assessments for new and existing drivers
  • Deliver Driver CPC training and vehicle familiarisation sessions
  • Identify and deliver retraining following incidents or non-compliance
  • Support with accident investigations and vehicle checks
  • Deliver toolbox talks and support with driver queries
  • Maintain accurate training records and keep up to date with legislation
  • Attend H&S meetings and support operational teams during peak times
  • Travel to other sites when required
Requirements:

Essential:

  • Full C+E (Class 1) HGV Licence with at least 5 years' experience
  • Recognised Driver Assessor qualification
  • Up-to-date CPC and valid Digicard
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for training
  • Confident with IT systems including Microsoft Office and PowerPoint

Preferred:

  • RTITB qualification or similar (desirable)
  • Experience with driver coaching and Road Traffic Collision training
  • Knowledge of Microlise and EPOD systems
  • Team player with a proactive approach to safety and compliance
