A leading food & drink wholesaler in London is seeking permanent drivers for Monday-Saturday shifts. Drivers will play a vital role in timely deliveries with excellent service, maintain a professional appearance, and safely operate delivery vehicles. Ideal candidates should have a Class 2 vehicle knowledge, resilience, and strong customer service skills. The role includes overtime opportunities and provides fully funded CPC training hours.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for 2 permanent drivers working Monday-Saturday shifts with a day off in the week. The typical start time is 7/7:30 am.

Would you like more local driving and to be a valued member of a delivery team? This role offers a varied schedule, driving locally and building relationships with our regular customers.

Our drivers are the heart of our business, playing a vital role in ensuring customers receive their deliveries on time with excellent service.

Working on an “Any 5 from 7” contract, our shift patterns include some weekend work.

  • Maintain a smart and professional appearance, embodying ‘The Face of Booker’ at all times.
  • Safely operate a clean, presentable vehicle, inside and out.
  • Use delivery equipment such as cages, bars, straps, tail lift safely and carefully.
  • Be knowledgeable about vehicle defects and adhere to the vehicle defect policy.
  • Assess health & safety risks during deliveries, ensuring safety, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Load and unload the vehicle safely at customer premises.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Comply with GDPR guidelines at all times.
  • Lead by example, living the Booker Code of Business Conduct and Win Together behaviours.
  • Support branch functions when not on the road, such as vehicle cleaning, picking, wrapping, and loading.
  • Class 2 vehicle knowledge.
  • Understanding of safe use of delivery equipment.
  • Knowledge of the vehicle defect policy.
  • Previous PDA experience is preferable.
  • Resilience and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Previous Class 2 and multi-drop experience preferred.
