Heavy Plant Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Plant Engineer to join our team, working with large static plant ranging from 20-50 tonnes, including crushers, screeners and other heavy machinery commonly used on demolition sites and MRFs. This role offers long‑term stability, a strong overtime structure and the opportunity to work with complex, high-value equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, repair and service all heavy plant equipment in line with manufacturer specifications.
  • Respond to breakdowns across various sites as required.
  • Monitor and maintain parts stock, reporting purchase requirements to the manager.
  • Keep up to date with technical developments and identify training or equipment needs.
  • Ensure the workshop remains clean, organised and compliant with all legislation.
  • Carry out all tasks safely and make full use of the tools, equipment and PPE provided.
Person Specification
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, adaptable attitude.
  • Willingness to work overtime and take on varied tasks.
  • Fast learner with the ability to understand new products and machinery.
  • High awareness of health & safety standards and safe working practices.
  • Physically fit, active and able to work across changing site environments.
Hours & Benefits
  • 45‑hour week
  • Monday-Friday + Saturday AM
  • Overtime available (paid at x1.5)
