The Day procedure Unit is made up of Muriel Thoms Day Procedure Unit, Allies Theatre and the North Norfolk Macmillan Centre. It has several LA (Local anaesthetic) procedure rooms, which are where minor surgery for Pain, Dermatology, Urology, Vascular and gynaecological specialities takes place, together with venesections and BCG treatments. This clinical work is supported by clinics which are either led by a specialist doctor or nurse with the support of the nursing team.
Responsibilities
- We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is willing to adapt to meet the needs of our service and able to support our trained staff with the above specialities.
- You should be able to work well as part of a team and be able to prioritise your own workload.
- The successful candidate will be expected to work in all areas of the department and be taught to use the specialised equipment.
- To participate in tasks and carry out instructions of registered professionals relevant to area to support patient care, e.g. collect blood for transfusion or purpose relevant to area, preparation of equipment for theatres, collecting medication from pharmacy or equipment from other clinical areas.
- To participate in audit as required.
- To develop self-awareness, building resilience, relationship building, self-care and adaptability.
Qualifications / Experience
- Previous experience in one of these fields would be desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
- Adherence to NNUH policies consistently and adhere to the uniform trust policy.
- To act as a role model to others; always projecting a professional image.
- Understands what is meant by duty of care and the boundaries of the HCSW – Clinical care role.
- Demonstrates awareness of own professional responsibilities and upholds the PRIDE values consistently.
- To participate in tasks and carry out instructions of registered professionals relevant to area to support patient care.
