Position Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring Healthcare Assistant to join our pre‑operative patient preparation area (POPPA). This is a fast‑paced environment where you will play a key role in supporting patients as they begin their surgical journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcoming and calling patients forward for their surgery.
• Checking in patients and ensuring all required documentation is complete and available.
• Helping patients get ready for their procedure.
• Monitoring patients throughout their stay and promptly escalating any concerns to a registered practitioner.
• Supporting the wider theatre service to deliver high‑quality patient care and ensuring a smooth, safe, and reassuring experience for every patient.

If you are dedicated, work well within a multidisciplinary team, and are keen to develop new skills, we would love to hear from you. Previous experience is helpful but not essential – full training will be provided.

Working Conditions

This is a part‑time role with service provision covering Monday to Sunday, offering flexibility alongside the opportunity to be part of a supportive, patient‑focused team.

For part‑time roles you will receive a pro‑rata salary payment based on the appropriate pay step/point and hours worked in accordance with AfC and all medical and dental terms and conditions.
