Health & Safety Manager – Energy Projects (Civil Engineering)

Location: National (with travel).

We’re seeking a Health & Safety Manager to oversee HSQE matters across our expanding portfolio of energy projects in the civil engineering sector. This is a national role with travel, offering the chance to influence safety culture and project delivery across the UK.

About the Business Unit

You’ll join a team of specialist SHEQ professionals supporting a diverse range of projects and contracts nationwide. Our HSQE team combines geographical and technical expertise, providing a strong platform for learning, collaboration, and career growth.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Head of Health & Safety, you will:

  • Lead all Health & Safety aspects across energy projects, from pre‑qualification and tendering to contract delivery and completion.
  • Conduct site safety inspections and ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented.
  • Liaise with clients, multiple stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to maintain compliance and promote best practices.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate H&S meetings, provide in‑house training, and support the delivery of a consistent H&S approach across the business.
Requirements
  • Proven Health & Safety management experience in civil engineering, energy, or utility projects.
  • Relevant H&S qualification (Degree/Diploma/HNC/HND).
  • Chartered status or working towards IOSH chartered status.
  • Experience managing multiple sites and stakeholders nationwide.
