Job description

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Health & Safety Advisor to support our client on a 3-month project basis. This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact by helping establish and improve our client's on-site health and safety systems.

You will play a key role in developing and implementing Safe Systems of Work, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and machinery checklists, ensuring they align with best practices and compliance standards. You'll also work with their existing platform, SML, to help action and close out key checklists and safety observations in collaboration with the site team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and implement Safe Systems of Work and SOPs for machinery and site processes.
  • Develop and refine checklists to support operational safety.
  • Support the on-site team in completing observation actions and safety-related tasks via the SML platform.
  • Work alongside our external H&S consultants to align on-site practices with strategic guidance.
  • Provide practical, day-to-day H&S support to help improve our current systems and culture.
About You:
  • Experience within a Health & Safety or Operations role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK health & safety legislation and best practices.
  • Confident developing documentation and processes for a production environment.
  • Positive, can-do attitude and comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on setting.
  • Able to work collaboratively with operational staff and external consultants.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification desirable but not essential.

We're a dynamic manufacturing business that values practical, effective solutions. Over the last year, we've operated without a full-time H&S Manager, supported by external consultants. We are now looking for a temporary in-house resource to help us take the next big step in solidifying our safety processes - laying a strong foundation for long-term success.

If you're ready to roll up your sleeves and make a difference in a short period, we'd love to hear from you. Please apply today with an up-to-date CV
