Job description
Overview

Health Records Team – Reception and Administrative role at Northumbria Healthcare. Based at Seaton Delaval with coverage across the Trust’s hospitals and community sites. Key focus on patient reception, data entry and non-clinical patient support.

Responsibilities
  • Work flexible shifts – weekend, bank holidays and variable service hours.
  • Receive patients and visitors, ensuring accurate and efficient recording using NHS computer systems (Patient Administration System – PAS and Mediviewer).
  • Provide non-clinical advice to patients, relatives and the public, and support internal and external agencies.
  • Collaborate with Health Records Hubs, wards and departments to deliver high‑quality service and enhance patient experience.
  • Handle physical tasks – moving and handling flatbeds and trollies, using stepladders, and standing for long periods.
  • Adhere to Trust confidentiality policy and GDPR requirements in all duties.
Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience of working with the general public, demonstrating professionalism at all times.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to service requirements.
  • Basic computer literacy – familiarity with NHS systems (PAS, Mediviewer) preferred.
