Job description

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and well‑organised Band 2 Healthcare Support Worker/Administrator to join our dedicated Stoma Care team. This dual‑role position combines direct patient support with essential administrative responsibilities, contributing to the smooth and effective delivery of high‑quality care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide stoma care support to patients on the ward and in clinical areas, under the guidance of the Stoma Care Nursing Team, ensuring a kind and respectful approach at all times.
  • Act as a point of contact for stoma patients, relatives and health care professionals, including face‑to‑face contact, by phone, email, etc.
  • Book and confirm patient appointments and prep the CNS workload for clinic.
  • Order stock for the department, support the team with general office tasks, and contribute to data collection and audit for service improvement.
  • Perform a range of administrative duties, including answering and triaging incoming telephone calls in a professional and timely manner.
Qualifications
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, carers and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Must understand and adhere to confidentiality, data protection and infection control policies.
  • Proficiency in using IT systems, including Microsoft Office and patient record systems (WPAS, WCP).
  • Maintain a flexible and proactive approach to work, with a commitment to providing compassionate patient‑centred care and attending mandatory training and team meetings.
