Job summary

A community and mental health provider Trust is seeking a Health Care Assistant to join the nursing team at St Mary's Hospital, Scilly Isles. The role involves supporting patient care and working under the guidance of Registered Nurses. Ideal candidates should have relevant qualifications and a positive attitude. We are looking to recruit a Band 3 Health Care Assistant to join our nursing team at St Mary’s Hospital on the Isles of Scilly.

The role requires the post‑holder to be committed to the ongoing development of the ward and multidisciplinary team working, aiming to deliver the highest standards of patient care.

The post‑holder will require a cheerful "can do" attitude. In return we will support you in your career path.

The working hours consist of a mixture of long days and night shifts in order to support 24‑hour nursing care, 7 days a week.

An Island Living Allowance of 5% of the salary is payable to the successful candidate resident on the island. Single person accommodation may be available.

Main duties of the job
  • To assist in the delivery of clinical care, planned and assessed by the Registered Nurses
  • To carry out care / other duties under indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Senior Health Care Assistant
  • Support care on a day‑to‑day basis for all patients in the clinical area in a manner sensitive to the individual clients needs and wishes, acknowledging their rights and beliefs at all times
  • Contribute to resource management within the clinical area
