Health Care Assistant - Urgent Care (York)

Contract: 6-12 months (possible extensions)

Hours:
Monday to Friday: 08:00 - 18:00
Saturday: 08:00 - 13:00

Pay Rate: £16.13 per hour (umbrella)

Role Overview

Service Care Solutions are seeking an experienced Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join a busy Urgent Care team in York. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast‑paced environment, supporting clinicians and delivering essential care to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform ECGs and phlebotomy accurately and efficiently.
  • Carry out health checks, wound care, and dressings.
  • Administer B12 injections as required.
  • Assist clinicians in delivering high‑quality patient care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records using SystmOne.
  • Ensure compliance within infection control and health & safety standards.
  • Support patients with dignity, compassion, and professionalism.
  • Complete administrative tasks related to patient care when required.
Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Health Care Assistant in a clinical setting.
  • Competent in ECG and phlebotomy procedures.
  • Must hold an NHS Smart Card.
  • Proficient in using SystmOne.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
