Overview

Health and Safety Advisor • Full Time & Permanent • Ideally based between Bristol and Exeter to support sites across the region • Up to £55,000 + company vehicle

The Role

As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in promoting a culture of safety across all levels of the organisation. Working closely with teams on-site and in the office, you\'ll provide expert guidance, ensure compliance and lead initiatives that prioritise the wellbeing of their workforce.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and company policies.
  • Develop, implement and review risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
  • Deliver engaging health and safety training and toolbox talks to staff and subcontractors.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and near-misses, producing detailed reports with recommendations for improvement.
  • Support teams with practical solutions to health and safety challenges.
  • Stay up to date with changes in legislation and ensure policies and procedures are updated accordingly.
  • Foster a positive health and safety culture across all teams.
What They\'re Looking For
  • NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent (essential).
  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within construction (or similar).
  • Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage others.
  • A proactive and practical approach to problem-solving.
  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
