Overview
Your primary responsibility will be to provide expert advice, guidance and support to our workforce, enabling them to operate in compliance with relevant regulations, Company standards, and best practices. You will work closely with all levels of the organisation to promote a strong safety culture and drive continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental performance.
Responsibilities
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in health, safety, and quality practices, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practices.
- Carry out site inductions and drug testing of Company employees, sub-contractors and agency personnel.
- Conduct regular inspections, produce risk assessments to identify hazards, assess compliance, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks and ensure continuous improvement.
- Provide expert advice, guidance, and deliver training to employees and contractors on health, safety, and environmental matters, ensuring a comprehensive understanding and practical application.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, analysing root causes and recommending preventive measures to enhance safety and prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with project teams to produce and review construction management plans, methodologies, and ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Deliver toolbox talks and safety campaigns to promote a strong safety culture.
- Liaise with external auditors and third-party stakeholders to ensure compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
- Monitor and analyse health, safety, and quality performance metrics, prepare reports, and provide recommendations for improvement to the health & safety manager.
- You may be required from time to time to undertake other duties in accordance with your skills and job role, as your manager, Director or Managing Director reasonably require, to enable the Company to meet its business needs.
Essential
- NEBOSH General and Construction certificates.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience of working in a construction health and safety role.
- Ability to assimilate latest information quickly and be a good communicator both written and orally.
- Computer literate with sound planning and organisational skills and knowledge of Office 365, with the ability to prioritise evolving workloads.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
